We continue our review series of Europe’s baseball leagues after the Netherlands and Italy with the German Baseball-Bundesliga.

2011 Ranking: 1st place in southern division following regular season. The Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg clinched their third German championship in four years, coming back from a 0-2 deficit in the final series against the Untouchables Paderborn. They had eliminated the Dortmund Wanderers and Solingen Alligators on their route to the championship series.

Best Batter: Evan LeBlanc. The outfielder was named best batter and MVP in the southern division after his first season in Germany. He batted .484/.561/.726 with four homeruns, 11 doubles, 29 runs and 34 RBI in just 24 games.

Best Pitcher: Mike Bolsenbroek. The Dutch right-hander returned to Regensburg following his release from the Philadelphia Phillies organization during the spring. He went 6-0 with an ERA of 1.57 in 12 games. He struck out 79 batters in 57 1/3 innings, walking 23.
