2011 in Review – Italian Baseball League – T&A San Marino

After a short break we’re continuing our review series for the 2011 season. After the Dutch Hoofdklasse next up is the Italian Baseball League.

T&A San Marino

2011 Record: 31-11
2011 Ranking: 1st. T&A San Marino won its second championship in the Italian Baseball League after 2008, defeating Danesi Nettuno in seven games in the Italian Baseball Series. They had reached the finals due to winning six of the nine games in the semi-final round and came back in the best-of-seven series against Nettuno. The team of manager Doriano Bindi didn’t stop there, as they also captured the European Champions Cup in Brno.

Runs Allowed: 151 (4th)

Best Batter: Wuilliuans Vasquez. The Venezuelan batted .344/.447/.563 with eight homeruns, 37 runs and 27 RBI in 42 games in his first season with the Titans.

Best Pitcher: Darwin Cubilan. The former Major Leaguer went 6-0 in 12 relief appearances with an ERA of 0.41 and two saves. He struck out 59 batters in 44 innings, walking 13.
Best ERA Starting Pitcher: Henry Bonilla 2.50
Best ERA Reliever: Darwin Cubilan 0.41
Most Strikeouts: Tiago Da Silva 95
Most Walks: Ivan Granados 26
Most Innings Pitched: Tiago Da Silva 88.2
