2011 in Review – German Baseball-Bundesliga – Bonn Capitals



We continue our review series of Europe’s baseball leagues after the Netherlands and Italy with the German Baseball-Bundesliga.

Bonn Capitals

2011 Record: 20-8
2011 Ranking: 3rd place in northern division after regular season. After a second winter full with investments the Bonn Capitals reached the playoffs easily in third place. In the quarterfinals they blew a 2-0 lead against the Heidenheim Heidekoepfe, but prevailed in five games to advance into the semi-finals. Against division rival Untouchables Paderborn Bonn lost in four games to end the season.

Best Batter: Bradley Roper-Hubbert. The 25-year-old American, who will be back in 2012, batted .356/.496/.594 with 13 extra base hits, 31 runs and 28 RBI in 27 games.
