A few weeks ago, we started our review series. After the Dutch Hoofdklasse, the Italian Baseball League and the Spanish Division de Honor, we now direct our attention to the German Baseball-Bundesliga.

2009 Record: 18-6
2009 Ranking: 2nd place in southern division of Baseball-Bundesliga. In the playoffs they beat the Dortmund Wanderers and Solingen Alligators to reach the German finals, where they held down the Mannheim Tornados in five games to clinch the first national championship in team history.
Mister-Baseball European Top 50 Club Ranking: 10th
Runs Scored: 173 (led league)
Runs Allowed: 91

Best Batter: Simon Guehring. The German national teamer and former Minor Leaguer in the Brewers organization batted a league-leading .449 (OBP .495/SLG .708) with four homeruns, one triple, nine doubles, 22 runs scored and 16 RBI in 21 games during the regular season. After missing the semi-finals due to a foot injury, Guehring came back and hit three homeruns and drove in eight in the last two games of the finals series against the Tornados.

Most Home Runs: Ryan Lilly 5 (tied for league-lead)
Most RBI: Ryan Lilly 29 (2nd in league)
Most Runs Scored: Ray Stokes 29 (2nd in league)
Most Stolen Bases: Ray Stokes 31 (2nd in league)

Best Pitcher: Dusty Bergman. The one-time Major Leaguer had a perfect 8-0 record with an ERA of 1.96 and a WHIP of 0.89 in eleven starts. He struck out 67 batters in 73 1/3 innings, while walking 20. He was tied with teammate Markus Winkler for the league-lead in wins.

Most Strikeouts: Dusty Bergman 67 (2nd in league)
Most Walks: Markus Winkler 27
Most Innings Pitched: Markus Winkler 77.0 (led league)
