2009 Season: After signing in 2007, making his debut in 2008, Mariekson Gregorius, the son of Didi and brother of Johnny Gregorius, started the 2009 season with the Billings Mustangs in the Pioneer League and batted .314 (OBP .363/SLG .387) with twelve extra base hits, 28 runs and 16 RBI in 50 games. He was named to the Pioneer League all-star team and got called up to the Sarasota Reds of the Florida State League. In Florida he batted .254 (OBP .274/SLG .310) with four doubles, eight runs scored and two RBI in 22 games. In all but two games he started at shortstop.
