Prospects in 2009 – Luca Panerati – Billings Mustangs



During the winter months we are going to look back at the performances of Europeans, who played in the United States during the 2009 season.

Birth date: 12/2/1989 in Grosseto, Italy
Throws/Bats: Left/Left
Organization: Cincinnati Reds
Position: Pitcher

2009 Season: In his second year in the United States Luca Panerati made 14 starts (two complete games) for the Billings Mustangs in the Pioneer League. He had a 3-7 record with an ERA of 5.96 and 43 strikeouts (14 walks) in 71 innings. He also was on the Italian national team during the World Baseball Classic (1 GP, 0.1 IP, ERA 0.00) and the IBAF Baseball World Cup (2 GP, 1 GS, 8 IP, ERA 4.50, 7 SO, 3 BB).
