Prospects in 2009 – Andrei Lobanov – Gulf Coast League Twins

During the winter months we are going to look back at the performances the Europeans, who played in the United States during the 2009 season.

Birth date: 1/25/1990 in Moscow, Russia
Throws/Bats: Left/Left
Organization: Minnesota Twins
Position: Pitcher

2009 Season: Andrei Lobanov simply dominated in his second year in professional baseball. Again pitching in the Gulf Coast League he went 2-1 with seven saves in 15 games. He had an ERA of 0.82 (WHIP 0.682) and struck out 35 batters in just 22 innings, while walking one.
