2009 in Review – German Baseball-Bundesliga – Solingen Alligators

A few weeks ago, we started our review series. After the Dutch Hoofdklasse, the Italian Baseball League and the Spanish Division de Honor, we now direct our attention to the German Baseball-Bundesliga.

2009 Ranking: 1st place in northern division of Baseball-Bundesliga. In the semi-finals they lost in five games against the Heidenheim Heidekoepfe and finished in third place in the final standings.

Best Batter: Chris Beck. He batted a second-best .415 (OBP .536/SLG .638) with two homeruns, four triples, seven doubles, 40 runs scored and 28 RBI in his second season in the Baseball-Bundesliga. He led the league in hits (39), triples, RBIs, runs scored, walks (26), stolen bases (19) and On-Base-plus-Slugging-Percentage (1.174). He also struck out just once in 94 at-bats.
