2011 Season: The 21-year-old right-handed pitcher Swen Huijer played his fourth professional season in the United States this year. It was the first time that he left the Gulf Coast League, being called up to the Lowell Spinners in the NY-Penn League. He went 2-2 with an ERA of 2.43 in 14 games – all as a reliever. He collected 34 strikeouts in 40 2/3 innings, while walking 17.
