2011 Season: After signing with the San Diego Padres last year, the 17-year-old Rodney Daal made his professional debut in 2011 in the Arizona Summer League. He batted .239/.379/.296 with four doubles, eight runs and six RBI in 25 games. He threw out 10 players in 49 stolen base attempts and got hit with 12 passed balls. In August he was called up briefly to the Pacific Coast League affiliate of the Padres in Tucson, where he even made an appearance at third base.
