2011 Season: His second season in professional baseball was his last for now, as Daan Cornelissen was released by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the middle of July. He had returned to the Gulf Coast League, but appeared in only six games, collecting two hits in 17 at-bats. Not enough for a offense-oriented position like corner outfielder or first base.
