Women’s Euros Postponed; CEB Exec Sets COVID-19 Policy

Confederation of European Baseball (CEB), International Federations Comments Off on Women’s Euros Postponed; CEB Exec Sets COVID-19 Policy

Press Release from the Confederation of European Baseball.

The CEB Executive Committee held a video conference on Mar. 17. The COVID-19 pandemic situation was analyzed and the possibility of playing the CEB Tournaments in 2021 was reviewed.

It is very difficult to make any final decisions regarding the tournaments at this moment; therefore, the Executive Committee is going to evaluate the situation 60 days before each tournament, and the deadline of notification for cancelling, postponing or rescheduling an event will be 45 days before the tournament.

Following the WBSC decision to move the Women’s World Cup to 2022/2023, CEB decided to postpone the Women’s European Championship to 2022. Montpellier, France will keep the organizing rights.

CEB is working on the COVID-19 protocol for each tournament together with the LOC in every hosting country and the document will be sent to the participating clubs/federations. CEB will do whatever it can to play all of our tournaments and to have a normal baseball season.
