2011 in Review – Italian Baseball League – De Angelis North East Knights

After a short break we’re continuing our review series for the 2011 season. After the Dutch Hoofdklasse next up is the Italian Baseball League.

De Angelis North East Knights

2011 Record: 10-32
2011 Ranking: 7th place. After battling financial problems during the winter, the Godo-Verona connection of De Angelis North East Knights finished the 2011 season with a 10-32 record in seventh place. Winning five of six games against eight-ranked Novara United helped cleaning up the record. Low point of the season was a 17-game losing streak between May 21 and July 14.
Runs Scored: 145 (7th)
Runs Allowed: 271 (7th)

Best Batter: Terrence McClain. The journeyman batted .296 (OBP .412/SLG .444) with four homeruns, nine doubles, 24 runs and 19 RBI in 40 games.

Best Pitcher: Rodney Rodriguez. He went 2-8 with an ERA of 2.99 in 14 starts for the North East Knights. He struck out 95 batters in 81 1/3 innings, walking 32.
