2010 in Review – Spanish Division de Honor – FC Barcelona

We are right in the middle for our annual season reviews of European Baseball. We already looked to Italy, the Netherlands and Germany. Now the Spanish Division de Honor is at the plate.

2010 Ranking: 2nd place in Division de Honor. The FC Barcelona lost five games this season, four of them against CB Sant Boi, which decided the championship. In the Copa del Rey Cup tournament they were eliminated in the semi-finals.

Runs Allowed: 92 (2nd)

Best Batter: Orlando Diaz. The catcher batted .402 (OBP .486/SLG .574) with 15 extra base hits, 30 runs and 40 RBI in 35 games.

Best Pitcher: Delio Miguel Martinez. He had a 9-1 record with an ERA of 2.21 in 15 games (eleven starts). He struck out 106 batters in 97 2/3 innings, while walking 35.
