2010 in Review – Spanish Division de Honor – CB Viladecans

We are right in the middle for our annual season reviews of European Baseball. We already looked to Italy, the Netherlands and Germany. Now the Spanish Division de Honor is at the plate.

2010 Record: 15-21
2010 Ranking: 7th place in Division de Honor. The record champion in Spain climbed the ladder in the second half of the season, winning eight of the last ten games.
Runs Scored: 197 (7th)
Runs Allowed: 216 (6th)

Best Batter: Denny de Jesus Nino. The 27-year-old former minor league catcher in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization didn’t disappoint in his first season in Spain. He batted .343 (OBP .500/SLG .528) with three homeruns, eleven doubles, 30 runs scored and 23 RBI in 34 starts.
Best OPS: Denny Nino 1.028
Most Home Runs: Denny Nino, Eric Segura 3
Most RBI: Denny Nino 23
Most Runs Scored: Denny Nino 30
Most Stolen Bases: Alex Tenllado 14

Best Pitcher: Pol Llopis. The left-hander had a 7-6 record with an ERA of 3.23 in 16 appearances on the mound this year. He struck out 83 batters in 94 2/3 innings, while walking 45.
Best ERA Starter: Pol Llopis 3.23
Best ERA Reliever: Miguel Luengo 4.33
Most Strikeouts: Fabian Marquez 88
Most Walks: Fabian Marquez 80
