BOLOGNA closed out the regular season in the Italian Baseball League with a 7-4 win against RIMINI, avoiding a sweep in the three-game series. Both teams finish with 30-12 records. Richard Austin hit his homeruns six and seven this year. Eddy Garabito also drove the ball over the fence. Matthew Stocco picked up three RBI. The two clubs used the game to give several of their pitchers an opportunity to get some work in. Giuseppe Norrito picked up the win in relief. Sandy Patrone took the loss despite given up just one run on one hit and two walks in three innings.

GROSSETO scored two runs in the eighth on a RBI triple by Damiano Riccucci and a RBI single by Niccolo Biscontri en route to a 4-3 victory against SAN MARINO. The champion of last year had won the first two games of the series. Despite the win, MONTEPASCHI misses the playoffs. Starters Matteo Tonellato (SMA) and Riccardo de Santis (GRO) went five innings each. Alessandro Medaglini received the win, Pedro Orta the loss.

CARIPARMA won a slugfest 15-11 on Saturday evening against GODO and goes into the playoffs as the number four seed. They scored ten runs in the first two frames, but nearly blew the big lead later on, as DE ANGELIS cut down the deficit to a single run in the top of the eighth. But three insurance runs by PARMA in the bottom of the period sealed the win. Leonardo Zileri and Alex Sambucci combined for six RBI for the home team. Laidel Chapelli scored three times and drove in two. Lino Connell homered for GODO. Roberto Toniazzi went three-for-five with four RBI. Danny Newman picked up the win after 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief. Starter Roberto Corradini pitched only four innings, allowing four hits, two runs and a walk. Matteo Galeotti conceded seven hits, ten runs (8 ER) and three bb in 1 1/3 innings for the loss.

European Champions Cup Winner NETTUNO concluded the regular season in the IBL with a 16-9 win and the sweep over REGGIO EMILIA. They still miss the playoffs in fifth place. They opened the scoring in the first, taking a fast 5-0 lead. PALFINGER evened the score with a five-run rally in the fourth, but DANESI put four runs on the board in the fourth and fifth frames each. Giuseppe Mazzanti, Andrea Castri and Dewis Navarro combined for nine of the eleven RBI. Ennio Retrosi and Juan Camilo crossed the plate three times apiece. Henrique Gomez homered for REGGIO EMILIA. Massimiliano Masin struck out eight in six innings, giving up five hits, six runs (1 ER) and three bb. Ruggero Iacopini took the loss in relief of Filippo Bertolini.
