DE ANGELIS GODO secured seventh place in the Italian Baseball League on Friday with an 8-1 victory over CARIPARMA. They took the lead in the second with a five-run rally. Danilo Sanchez homered and scored twice overall. Paolo Tanesini drove in two. Greek starter Panagiotis Sikaras allowed just one run on five hits and a walk in seven innings for the win. He struck out six. Mihai Burlea got the start for PARMA, but left early after giving up seven hits, six runs (5 ER) and a bb in three innings.

REGGIO EMILIA would have needed a win on Friday to avoid relegation in the Italian Baseball League. But they were shut out by NETTUNO. The two Spanish national teamers Joel Hernandez and Remigio Leal combined to face just three batters over the minimum, conceding two hits and two walks in the nine innings. The third member of the Spanish national team, Dewis Navarro, hit a homerun and drove in two. Giuseppe Mazzanti also collected two RBI. Gregory Palanzo issued ten hits, five runs and two bb in seven innings.

Martin Vasquez homered and drove in three to lead SAN MARINO to a 4-1 win in GROSSETO. William Lucena started and allowed just three hits, a run and a walk in five innings for the win. Chris Cooper once again was hurt by the missing run support and suffered the loss, despite striking out ten in seven solid innings. He surrendered four hits, three runs and three bb.

RIMINI scored a combined eight runs in the seventh and eighth frames to blow the game against BOLOGNA wide open. After the 13-3 pounding the PIRATES are in sole position of first place in the Italian Baseball League. Mario Chiarini and Leo Serafin de Camargo drove in two runs each. Danny Gonzalez scored three times. Fernando Gutierrez picked up the win in relief of Chris Di Roma, who allowed three runs on five hits and three bb in 4 1/3 innings. Yulman Ribeiro took the loss after issuing five unearned runs on five hits and a walk in 4 2/3 innings.
