Cariparma Parma has forced a game seven in the Italian Baseball Series after winning 7-4 against UGF Bologna on Friday evening in front of 3,000 people in attendance at the Europeo Cavalli Stadium. Parma blew a 3-1 lead in the top of the seventh, but came right back with four runs to decide the outcome.
Cariparma had the better start into the game, taking a 3-0 lead through five innings thanks to a RBI single by Marco Yepez in the first, a solo homerun by Alex Sambucci in the third and a bases loaded hit by pitch by Davide Dallospedale in the fifth.
Fortitudo got in the board in the top of the sixth through a RBI single by Joe Mazzuca. One frame later they got in front with a three-run rally. Juan Carlos Infante tied the game with a two-run single and a sac fly by Eddy Garabito put them nine outs away from a defending the championship.
But it was not enough, as Parma answered right away in the bottom of the same frame. They loaded the bases with no outs on an error and a pair of singles. A bases loaded walk by Juan Camilo evened the score at 4-4. Orlando Munoz followed with a sac fly to give Cariparma the lead back. A two-run double by Riccardo Bertagnon made it 7-4.
