2009 in Review – Spanish Division de Honor – CB Sant Boi

During the “slow” winter months we’re going to take a look back at the 2009 season in the European Leagues. We’ve started with the Dutch Hoofdklasse and the Italian Baseball League. The Spanish Division de Honor is next up.

CB Sant Boi

2009 Record: 23-13
2009 Ranking: 2nd place in Division de Honor. The FC BARCELONA actually had a better record (30-6), but the federation ruled that SANT BOI will be ranked second in the final standings. They also finished in second place in the Copa del Rey cup tournament.

Runs Scored: 230
Runs Allowed: 112

Best Batter: Marc Carrillo. He batted .398 (OBP .468/SLG .675) with four homeruns, eleven doubles, 21 runs scored and 21 RBI in 21 games before an injury cut his season short.

Most Home Runs: William Domero, Marc Carrillo 4
Most RBI: Javier Jose Flores 28
Most Runs Scored: Rafael Rivas 37 (2nd in Division de Honor)
Most Stolen Bases: Rafael Rivas 18 (led Division de Honor)

Best Pitcher: Oscar Alvarez. He had an 11-5 record with an ERA of 1.80 in 18 starts, striking out 122 batters in 150 1/3 innings. He gave up just 104 hits and issued 37 walks.

Most Strikeouts: Oscar Alvarez 122
Most Walks: Jose Estebin Cruz 57
