After a short break we’re continuing our review series for the 2011 season. After the Dutch Hoofdklasse next up is the Italian Baseball League.

2011 Ranking: 6th place. Montepaschi Grosseto troubled by financial problems still had a realistic chance to make the playoffs in the Italian Baseball League. However the Orioles lost eight of their last nine games of the season to settle for sixth place in the final standings.

Best Batter: Luis Perez. He batted .371/.447/.494 with seven extra base hits in just 24 games for Grosseto.

Most Strikeouts: Riccardo De Santis 68
