2011 in Review – French Elite League – Savigny Lions

We start the new year with the continuation of our review series. After Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, Spain and the Czech Republic, we are entering French territory.

Savigny Lions

2011 Record: 22-6
2011 Ranking: 2nd place in French Elite League following regular season. The Savigny Lions were one of the dominating teams during the regular season, finishing only due to the tiebreaker in second place. However during the semi-finals against the Rouen Huskies an ineligible player ruling by the French Federation turned a 1-1 split into a 0-2 deficit and Savigny lost the series in four games.
Runs Scored: 257 (1st)
Runs Allowed: 154 (4th)

Best Batter: Florian Peyrichou. He batted .439/.537/.541 with three triples, four doubles, 34 runs and 25 RBI in 25 games.

Best Pitcher: Clayton Cooper. He went 9-1 with an ERA of 2.75 in 13 games (12 starts). He collected 89 strikeouts and 21 walks in 85 innings.

Best ERA Reliever: Enrique Juma Trinidad 3.86
Most Strikeouts: Clayton Cooper 89
Most Walks: Eloi Secleppe 23
Most Innings Pitched: Clayton Cooper 85.0
