2009 in Review – French Elite League – La Guerche Hawks

Even though we already started the year 2010, we will continue to look back at the 2009 season in Europe’s elite leagues. After the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Germany, Czech Republic , Sweden and Austria we will continue with the French Elite League.

La Guerche Hawks

2009 Record: 15-18 (including playdowns)
2009 Ranking: Fifth place in French Elite League. The Hawks had a 13-15 record during the regular season, missing the playoffs by two games. They will not return to the 2010 Elite League lineup due to a player shortage.
Runs Scored: 158 (in regular season)
Runs Allowed: 176 (in regular season)

Best Batter: Anthony Piquet. He batted .344 (OBP .535/SLG .375) with two doubles, 13 runs scored and 17 RBI in 23 games.
Best OPS: Anthony Piquet .910
Most Home Runs: Romain Legras, Matthieu Brau, Neftali Miller 1
Most RBI: Sebastien Vezina 21
Most Runs Scored: Virgile Roux 28
Most Stolen Bases: Virgile Roux 11

Best Pitcher: Kyle Gruver. He had a 5-2 record and an ERA of 3.14 in nine starts. He struck out 73 batters in 63 innings, walking 28.
Best ERA: Kyle Gruver 3.14
Most Strikeouts: Anthony Piquet 78
Most Walks: Kyle Gruver 28
Most Innings Pitched: Anthony Piquet 98.1
