2010 in Review – Belgian First Division – K. Deurne Spartans

We’re continuing our review series about the 2010 season in European Baseball with Belgium. Previously we looked at Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, France and the Czech Republic.

2010 Record: 13-10
2010 Ranking: 3rd place in the Belgian First Division after regular season. The promoted K. Deurne Spartans impressed, reached the top-four round robin in third place and didn’t stop there. They went 6-6 to reach the Belgian Series, where they lost to the Hoboken Pioneers.

Runs Allowed: 139 (3rd)

Best Batter: Johan Silva. He batted .400 (OBP .473/SLG .700) with five homeruns, nine doubles, 21 runs and 23 RBI in 2010.
