2010 in Review – Belgian First Division – Namur Angels

We’re continuing our review series about the 2010 season in European Baseball with Belgium. Previously we looked at Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, France and the Czech Republic.

Namur Angels

2010 Record: 10-14
2010 Ranking: 5th place in Belgian First Division after regular season. During the round robin for the bottom three teams, the Namur Angels picked up six wins in eight games to secure their spot in the 2011 campaign and to finish fifth in the final standings.
Runs Scored: 136 (5th)
Runs Allowed: 151 (4th)

Best Batter: Matt Brunnig. Usually known for his pitching abilities as a switch pitcher, the Harvard graduate had quite an impact on the Namur team, although he didn’t play that much. He went 9-for-22 with two triples, three doubles, five runs and six RBI.
Best OPS: Ludovic Geuquet .755
Most Homeruns: Gracjan Kraszewski, Theodore De Bellefroid, Jerome Sana, Remi Gillet 1

Best Pitcher: Shouta Ichinoseki. He went 2-6 with an ERA of 3.84 in eleven starts. He struck out 46 batters in 82 innings, while walking 27.
