Czech Extraliga
The Week 8 schedule has a number of intriguing series all across the standings as clubs battle for playoff positioning. Play began last night, with both the league-leading Arrows Ostrava (17-5) and challenger Draci Brno (13-7) booking big wins and Tempo Prague (10-12) collecting an important W as it seeks to move past the Trebic Nuclears (10-11) for the sixth and final playoff spot. The Nuclears, meanwhile, face a difficult assignment this weekend, with Sokol Hluboka (13-7) on the schedule.

The Draci-Eagles Prague (14-8) series will have implications at the top of the league, with Hrosi Brno (12-9) looking to overtake the Eagles in the standing should they stumble against the defending champion. Hrosi take on Blesk Jablonec (6-13) this weekend.
