A RBI single by Luca Bischeri and a RBI fielder’s choice by Gabriele Ermini helped GROSSETO to score the two decisive runs in the bottom of the seventh en route to a 4-3 win over GODO on Saturday afternoon. Paolo Tanesini had put DE ANGELIS up in front with a RBI single in the sixth. Felix Escalona went three-for-four with a run and a RBI. Chris Cooper (GRO) allowed three runs on nine hits and a walk in five-plus innings. Brandon Camardese (GOD) conceded five hits, two runs and three bb in six frames. Yovany D’Amico picked up the win, while James Ricchio took the loss.

Same result, different game in the night cap of the doubleheader. GROSSETO took a fast 4-0 lead in the bottom of the second on a RBI double by Filippo Attriti, a two-run triple by Jorge Nunez and a RBI single by Luca Bischeri. DE ANGELIS tried to rally in the last three frames and cut down the deficit to one run on a RBI single by Francesco Tanesini, a solo homerun by Danilo Sanchez and a RBI fielder’s choice by Daniele Malengo. But with a runner on third, Mattia Campanini struck out to end the game. Riccardo Santis earned the win by giving up just three hits in six scoreless innings. Lino Luciani took the loss after two innings, four hits, four runs and three walks. GODO’s relievers Matteo Galeotti and Daniele Del Bianco silenced the bats of the ORIOLES later on and issued just one more in the remaining six periods.

RIMINI avoided a sweep against SAN MARINO with a 10-2 victory on Saturday. Ivanon Coffie hit his eighth homerun of the season, a two-run shot in the eighth. Mario Chiarini and Eddie Rios also drove in two. Max De Biase drove in both T&A runs with a two-run single in the sixth. Sandy Patrone allowed two hits, two runs and four bb in 5 1/3 innings for the win. Luca Martignoni got defeated after four innings, four hits, four runs and three bb.

CARIAPARMA scored two runs each in the third and the eighth en route to a 4-1 win over NETTUNO in the afternoon portion of the Saturday twin bill. Leonardo Zileri scored twice. Orlando Munoz delivered two RBIs. Dewis Navarro drove in the lone run for DANESI. Marco Grifantini surrendered five hits and four walks in six innings, but held the winner of the European Champions Cup scoreless. Joel Hernandez allowed three hits, two runs (1 ER) and three bb in 6 1/3 innings for the loss.

PARMA used a ninth-inning three-run homerun of Alex Sambucci to turn a 2-4 deficit into a 5-4 win in the rubber game of the series. The guests had opened the contest by scoring two runs in the top of the first through RBI singles by Laidel Chapelli and Jhonny Carvajal. But NETTUNO answered right away, rallying for three runs in the bottom of the frame thanks to a two-run double by Juan Camilo and a bases loaded walk by Andrea Castri. They added another run in the fourth, when Manny Alexander scored on an error.

BOLOGNA scored four runs in the last two frames in a 5-1 win against REGGIO EMILIA, completing the sweep in the three-game series. Eddy Garabito led the charge by going four-for-five with three doubles, a run scored and two RBI. Matt Stocco scored twice. Fabio Betto allowed just three hits and a walk in six innings for the win. Daustin Nielsen was responsible for eight hits, three runs and two bb in seven innings in another defeat.
