Posted on January 2, 2011January 2, 2011 by philipp

Like last year we’re taking a look back at the performances by the Europeans who played in affiliated minor league ball in the United States in 2010.

Loek van Mil

Birth Date: 09/15/1984 in Oss, Netherlands
Throws/Bats: Right/Right
Organization: Los Angeles Angels
Position: Pitcher

2010 Season: After the 26-year-old Loek van Mil was added to the 40-man roster of the Minnesota Twins last winter he missed most of spring training due to an injury. He started the season with the Fort Myers Miracle in May. After three appearances in the Florida State League he got promoted to the New Britain Rock Cats (AA), where he had an ERA of 6.37 in 29 2/3 innings. He struck out 21 batters and walked 22. His tenure with the Twins ended at the end of August, as he got designated for assignment by the organization to make room on the roster for Brian Fuentes. A few days later it was announced that he would be included into the trade to the Los Angeles Angels. After the transaction he appeared in one game for the Double-A affiliate of the Angels, the Arkansas Travelers.
Career Stats: 7-10, ERA 3.57, WHIP 1.513, 189 IP, 144 SO, 105 BB
