T&A San Marino and Unipol Bologna have won the first two series of the semi-final round robin in the Italian Baseball League. San Marino won the rubber match 7-6 against ASD Rimini on Saturday evening after winning already on Thursday and losing on Friday. A home run by Francesco Imperali in the bottom of the seventh tied the game. A home run by Carlos Duran, his second in the game, sealed the win in the eighth. Duran finished with four hits and three RBI. Lorenzo Di Fabio had three hits and two runs for Rimini. Stefano Desimoni scored three times. Junior Oberto pitched six solid innings in relief to take the win. Tommaso Cherubini got charged with the loss.
In the second series Bologna completed a three-game sweep with a 6-3 win over Tommasin Padua. Four runs in the top of the ninth turned a 2-3 deficit into a three-run lead with three outs to go. Alessandro Vaglio had a two-run go-ahead single during the rally and later scored the sixth run on a wild pitch. Cesar Suarez and Luis Alvarez also had two RBI apiece. Filippo Crepaldi picked up the win by retiring the final four batters of the game. Angel Calero took the loss. He had replaced a scoreless Yonfranco Lopez in the sixth.
