Just a few days after firing the manager, GROSSETO crushed FORTITUDO 14-0 for their second win in the playoff round. They scored in six of the first eight innings, including a seven-run eighth to blow the score wide open.
Jorge Nunez (3-4, 4 runs, 3 RBI) and Kelly Ramos (1-4, 2 RBI) homered for MONTEPASCHI. Raul Marval went two-for-three with four RBI. Gabriele Ermini scored three times.
In addition to the powerful performance by the offense, the pitching staff had also a brilliant day. Emiliano Ginanneschi combined with Lorenzo Avagnina to stop BOLOGNA with a three-hitter. Ginanneschi allowed just two hits and a walk in eight innings, striking out seven. He threw 100 pitches, 68 for strikes. Fabio Betto took the loss, giving up six hits, four runs and a base on balls in three-plus innings.

NETTUNO continues to look like the team to beat on the way to the Italian championship. They took an early 4-0 lead in the second en route to an 11-2 victory in SAN MARINO. Ramon Tavarez and Leonardo Mazzanti (3-5, 3 runs) hit homeruns. Carlos Duran drove in three on two hits.
DANESI starter Carlos Richetti pitched seven solid innings to pick up the win. He gave up just three hits and three walks. T&A’s Matteo Tonellato was charged with two hits, four runs and four bb in 1 2/3 innings.
