BBC Montepaschi Grosseto presented new team structure

Posted on November 29, 2007 by philipp

BBC Grosseto announced a new team structure last Tuesday. They are creating a system with the BBC as the main team, Rosemar is going to be the under 21 squad and Junior Grosseto features the younger players (in six teams). You can compare it with the American organizations, where Major League teams have affiliated ones in the Minor Leagues on different levels to develop their prospects. The program is planned to last at least five years. Montepaschi sponsors all teams.

Rosemar is not participating any more in the Serie A2. They are concentrating on the Italian under 21 championships.

Mauro MAZZOTTI, the manager of BBC, will be the overall technical director. He is still responsible for the Serie A1 team. Piergiorgio SONNINI gets the job as technical coordinator and will assist MAZZOTTI. Luca LUONGO, Alessandro CIACCI and PICCINI are at the top of the Rosemar team.

The Italian Baseball and Softball Federation support the whole process. They are hoping that other teams will follow to improve play in the Italian Baseball League.
