Fortitudo Bologna cooperates in the future with seven local clubs from around the Italian city to strengthen their young player development program. They are the second team of the Serie A1 to establish a sort-of franchise after Montepaschi Grosseto. They had introduced their plans earlier this winter. The Italian Baseball Federation (FIBS) is supporting such intentions.

The agreement between Fortitudo, Sasso Marconi, Yankees S. Giovanni in Persiceto, Castenaso Baseball, BCM Baseball Minerbio, Nuvo Pianorese Baseball, Longbridge 2000 and San Lazzaro’90 could be the beginning for a bright future for the Bologna region. All eight should profit from synergy effects. Obviously the Italian Baseball League team will have the main advantage, as they now have plenty opportunities to develop their young players and get a big pool of prospects to choose from.
