ROTTERDAM, Netherlands – Only a quartet of countries remain in the hunt for the 2025 European Baseball Championshi, with the Czech Republic the first to win its quarterfinal game this morning over an Israel side that mounted a ninth-inning comeback. A second consecutive thriller saw Italy advance in a 1-0 nail-biter over Germany, while Spain dispatched Great Britain, 7-0. In the nightcap, Croatia took a 1-0 lead and pushed the Netherlands to the limit in a 3-1 victory.
Elsewhere, a surprise Austria win over France and an impressive 1-0 shutout by Sweden over Switzerland means that Austria and Sweden will content ninth place and Les Bleus and the Swiss will wrangle for eleventh.
