Germany’s Ben’s Bundesliga
Week 9 of Bundesliga South action sees a continued horse race between Heidenheim and Regensburg atop the standings, with the defending champion Heidenheim facing the tougher challenge this weekend in its match-up against the Mainz Athletics. Regensburg, meanwhile, hosts the winless Ulm Falcons in a contest that is certain to fill the scoresheet. In their first match-up this season, Regensburg put 43 runs on the board (and surrendered just one) in a two-game sweep.
The most interesting match-ups occur in the middle of the standings, where four teams are battling for the last two playoff spots. The Munich-Haar Disciples will want to end their four game losing streak in order to remain in the playoff chase, while Mannheim will look to return to winning ways against a Tübingen Hawks squad that will need to steal a way if it wants to be thought of as a serious contender.
In the Bundesliga North, the Bonn Capitals start play against the Solingen Alligators, who have gotten off to a strong start with a run differential of +20 in their four victories.
