2011 in Review – French Elite League – Rouen Huskies

We start the new year with the continuation of our review series. After Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, Spain and the Czech Republic, we are entering French territory.

Rouen Huskies

2011 Record: 19-9
2011 Ranking: 3rd place in French Elite League following regular season. The Rouen Huskies entered the 2011 season as defending champion and heavy favorite. In the end the team fulfilled expectations. However in the process Rouen struggled at times and had to settle for third place in the regular season. They beat Stade Toulousain in the quarterfinals and the Savigny Lions in the semi-finals to return to the championship series. In the finals they overcame a 0-2 deficit against the Montpellier Barracudas and celebrated another title.

Best Batter: David Gauthier. He batted .426/.581/.705 with three homeruns, eight doubles, 24 runs and 20 RBI in just 19 games.
