2011 Season: After signing with the Minnesota Twins last offseason, while pitching in Australia, the 20-year-old Markus Solbach made his professional debut in the Gulf Coast League. He pitched in 15 games as a reliever, going 3-for-3 with a save and an ERA of 1.91. He struck out 17 batters in 28 1/3 innings, while walking eight. After the IBAF Baseball World Cup (4.1 IP, 8 H, 3 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 7 SO) in Panama, Solbach was supposed to go back to Australia. Being assigned to the Sydney Blue Sox he hasn’t appeared in a game in the Australian Baseball League so far.
