2010 in Review – French Elite League – Montpellier Barracudas

We are in the middle of our annual season review series of the European Baseball leagues. After Italy, the Netherlands, Germany and Spain, we are going to take a look at the French Elite League.

Montpellier Barracudas

2010 Record: 18-6
2010 Ranking: 2nd place in French Elite League after regular season. During the semi-final round robin the Montpellier Barracudas won just two of seven games and missed out on the championship series.
Runs Scored: 207 (2nd)
Runs Allowed: 94 (2nd)

Best Batter: Jordan Pennington. He batted a league-best .436 (OBP .500/SLG .691) with one homerun, five triples, eleven doubles, 29 runs scored and 28 RBI in 22 games for Montpellier. He not only led the league in batting average, but also in hits, total bases, RBI, doubles and triples.
Best OPS: Jordan Pennington 1.191
Most Homeruns: Jordan Pennington, Andy Pitcher 1
Most RBI: Jordan Pennington 28 (led league)
Most Runs Scored: Stanton Hoover 39 (led league)
Most Stolen Bases: Stanton Hoover 18 (2nd)

Best Pitcher: Thomas Langloys. He went a perfect 8-0 with an ERA of 1.83 in nine appearances (seven starts). He struck out 32 batters in 59 innings, walking eleven.
Best ERA Starter: Thomas Langloys 1.83 (4th)
Best ERA Reliever: Gregory Cros 2.87
Most Strikeouts: Joris Navarro 56 (2nd)
Most Walks: Laurent Andrades 30
