2010 in Review – French Elite League – Templiers Senart

We are in the middle of our annual season review series of the European Baseball leagues. After Italy, the Netherlands, Germany and Spain, we are going to take a look at the French Elite League.

Templiers Senart

2010 Record: 12-12
2010 Ranking: 4th place in French Elite League after regular season. In the semi-final round robin the Templiers Senart won just two of nine games to miss out on the championship series.
Runs Scored: 130 (5th)
Runs Allowed: 115 (4th)

Best Batter: Ernesto Martinez. He batted .390 (OBP .561/SLG .627) with one homerun, eleven doubles, 17 runs scored and 17 RBI in 19 games for Senart this season. He led the league in on-base-percentage and in doubles.

Best Pitcher: Samuel Meurant. In probably his last season the right-hander had a 4-4 record with an ERA of 1.98 in nine appearances (eight starts). He struck out 55 batters in 63 2/3 innings, while walking 17. During the European Championship in Germany he got struck by a comebacker and broke his hand.
