2009 in Review – French Elite League – Templiers Senart

Even though we already started the year 2010, we will continue to look back at the 2009 season in Europe’s elite leagues. After the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Germany, Czech Republic , Sweden and Austria we will continue with the French Elite League.

Templiers Senart

2009 Record: 15-11
2009 Ranking: Third place in French Elite League after regular season. During the playoff round, the Templiers lost all nine games against Savigny, Rouen and Montpellier. Senart also played in the European Cup, finishing in sixth place in Matino, losing to Corendon Kinheim, Fortitudo Bologna and AVG Draci Brno.

Runs Allowed: 76

Best Batter: Andrew Smith. He batted .429 (OBP .520/SLG .607) with one homerun, three triples, six doubles, 37 runs scored and 13 RBI in 20 games. He also was a perfect eleven-for-eleven in stolen base attempts.

Best Pitcher: Samuel Meurant. He had a 5-1 record with an ERA of 1.24 in six starts. He struck out 37 batters in 43 2/3 innings, walking 13.

Most Strikeouts: Samuel Meurant, Matthieu Brelle-Andrade 37
