2009 in Review – German Baseball-Bundesliga – Haar Disciples

A few weeks ago, we started our review series. After the Dutch Hoofdklasse, the Italian Baseball League and the Spanish Division de Honor, we now direct our attention to the German Baseball-Bundesliga.

Haar Disciples

2009 Record: 13-19 (including play downs)
2009 Ranking: 6th place in southern division of Baseball-Bundesliga.
Runs Scored: 105 (in regular season)
Runs Allowed: 137 (in regular season)

Best Batter: Tavo Hall. He batted .374 (OBP .491/SLG .495) with three triples, five doubles, 23 runs scored and five RBI in 24 games. He also led the league with 34 stolen bases.
Best OPS: Tavo Hall .986 (9th in league)
Most Home Runs: Ty Eriksen 2
Most RBI: Ty Eriksen 20
Most Runs Scored: Tavo Hall 23 (6th in league)
Most Stolen Bases: Tavo Hall 34 (led league)

Best Pitcher: Dirk Fries. He had a 2-3 record with two saves and an ERA of 4.43 in eleven games (five starts). He struck out 17 batters in 44 2/3 innings, walking only a league-best four. He led the team in WHIP (1.14) and had the lowest Opponents-OPS (.665) among the regular pitchers of the Disciples.
Best ERA: Gregor Klinc 4.02 (minimum 15 IP)
Most Strikeouts: Ted Gieschen 38
Most Walks: Ted Gieschen 31 (5th most in league)
Most Innings Pitched: Ted Gieschen 54.2
