2022 Federation Cup Qualifier Kutno: Day 3

Posted on June 9, 2022June 23, 2022 by MrBB

Day 3 of the 2022 Federation Cup qualifier in Kutno, Poland, saw Sweden’s Rättvik Butchers knock off the hosts Stal Kutno, 6-4 (box score), in the most competitive game of the tournament to date. Kutno’s pitchers struggled to find the strike zone, walking eight batters and allowing the Butchers to score their six runs on just five hits, one of those an Evan Opperman two-run home run, his second in as many games in Kutno.

In the first game of Day 3, BK Vilnius rebounded from its shutout loss on Day 2 to defeat Finland’s Tampere Tigers 18-3 (box score).

The Lithuanians are set to meet the Butchers on Thursday at 16:00 CEST in the final game of group play.
