Posted on June 8, 2022June 23, 2022 by MrBB

Day 2 of the Federation Cup Qualifier in Kutno, Poland, saw the hosts Stal Kutno improve to 2-0 after a dominant victory over Lithuania’s BK Vilnius, with Sweden’s Rättvik Butchers enjoying a shutout victory in their tournament debut over Finland’s Tampere Tigers, who suffered their second defeat in as many days.

Stal Kutno’s 10-0 victory (box score) over Vilnius was the club’s second shutout of the competition, with the pitching staff scattering three hits in the seven-inning contest. Jakub Wojtczak’s fourth-inning grand slam was the offensive highlight of the game.

At the plate, Evan Opperman drove in four runs, two of them coming on a third-inning home run.
