2010 in Review – Dutch Hoofdklasse – L&D Amsterdam Pirates

After starting into the annual review season with the Italian Baseball League, we’re continuing with the Dutch Hoofdklasse.

L&D Amsterdam Pirates

2010 Record: 25-17
2010 Ranking: 3rd place in Dutch Hoofdklasse following the regular season. L&D Amsterdam beat the second-ranked Corendon Kinheim in four games in the semi-finals to reach the Holland Series. The Pirates had to settle for second place in the final standings after losing in six games to DOOR Neptunus in the best-of-seven championship series.
Runs Scored: 210 (3rd)
Runs Allowed: 147 (4th)

Best Batter: Sidney de Jong. The national team catcher batted .333 (OBP .430/SLG .382) with 26 runs scored and 20 RBI in 38 games this year.
Best OPS: Bas de Jong .895
Most Home Runs: Bas de Jong 3
Most RBI: Bas de Jong 30 (5th in league)
Most Runs Scored: Sidney de Jong 26
Most Stolen Bases: Roeland Henrique Jr. 8

Best Pitcher: Rob Cordemans. He had “just” a 7-2 record despite a stellar 0.81 ERA and a 76/15 strikeout to walk ratio in 77 1/3 innings through 13 games (11 starts) this year.
Best ERA Starter: Rob Cordemans 0.81 (2nd in league)
Best ERA Reliever: Al Morales 1.88
Most Strikeouts: Rob Cordemans 76 (5th in league)
Most Walks: Ben Grover 41
Most Innings Pitched: Ben Grover 84.0 (7th in league)
