2009 in Review – French Elite League – Montigny Cougars

Even though we already started the year 2010, we will continue to look back at the 2009 season in Europe’s elite leagues. After the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Germany, Czech Republic , Sweden and Austria we will continue with the French Elite League.

Montigny Cougars

2009 Record: 11-23 (including playdowns)
2009 Ranking: 7th place in French Elite League. They had a 6-22 record during the regular season and won five of six games in the playdowns to avoid relegation.
Runs Scored: 143 (in regular season)
Runs Allowed: 237 (in regular season)

Best Batter: Derek Malikian. He batted .349 (OBP .388/SLG .541) with two homeruns, four triples, seven doubles, 23 runs scored and 26 RBI in 26 games.
Best OPS: Derek Malikian .929 (minimum 50 PA)
Most Home Runs: Derek Malikian 2
Most RBI: Derek Malikian 26
Most Runs Scored: Derek Malikian, Maxime Lefevre 23
Most Stolen Bases: Derek Malikian 15

Best Pitcher: Jean-Baptiste Couton. He had a 2-3 record with an ERA of 3.83 in ten games. He struck out 44 batters in 51 2/3 innings, walking 47.
