2009 in Review – French Elite League – Arvernes de Clermont-Ferrand

Even though we already started the year 2010, we will continue to look back at the 2009 season in Europe’s elite leagues. After the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Germany, Czech Republic , Sweden and Austria we will continue with the French Elite League.

BSCC Arvernes de Clermont-Ferrand

2009 Record: 6-28 (including playdowns)
2009 Ranking: 8th place in French Elite League. They went 4-24 during the regular season and won two of six games during the playdowns.
Runs Scored: 87 (regular season)
Runs Allowed: 259 (regular season)

Best Batter: Yoann Bernard. He batted .281 (OBP .402/SLG .292) with one double, ten runs scored and five RBI in 26 games.
Best OPS: Yoann Bernard .694
Most Home Runs: Ben Pfinsgraff 1
Most RBI: Ianis Bouteloup 11
Most Runs Scored: Bruno Gaillard 15
Most Stolen Bases: Bruno Gaillard 8

Best Pitcher: Ben Pfinsgraff. He had a 2-0 record with an ERA of 1.50 in four starts. He struck out 44 batters in 30 innings, while walking just four. He allowed only 17 hits. The former Minor Leaguer in the Philadelphia Phillies left after one month to join the independent Winnipeg Goldeyes.
Best ERA: Ben Pfinsgraff 1.50

Most Innings Pitched: Remi Pellet 54.0
