2009 in Review – Czech Extraleague – Arrows Ostrava

A few weeks back we’ve started with a review season on Mister-Baseball. We already have covered the Netherlands, Italy, Spain and Germany. Now up is the Czech Extraleague.

Arrows Ostrava

2009 Record: 19-15
2009 Ranking: 3rd place after regular season in Extraleague. In the playoffs they defeated MZLU Express Brno and Technika Brno, each in five games, to reach the Czech finals. Arrows was swept in the Championship Series by AVG Draci Brno to finish second in the final standings.

Best Batter: Ales Navrátil. He batted .409 (OBP .457/SLG .512) with one homerun, ten doubles, 27 runs scored and 25 RBI in 32 games.

Best Pitcher: Jon Jon Robles. He had a 6-6 record with an ERA of 1.81 in 17 games this year. He struck out 112 batters in just 89 1/3 innings, while walking 18. He also issued only 56 hits all season.
