2009 in Review – Czech Extraleague – Eagles Prague

A few weeks back we’ve started with a review season on Mister-Baseball. We already have covered the Netherlands, Italy, Spain and Germany. Now up is the Czech Extraleague.

Eagles Prague

2009 Record: 18-17
2009 Ranking: 4th place after regular season in Extraleague. The Eagles lost in four games in the first round of the playoffs against Skokani Olomouc. They had won game of the best-of-five series 10-0, but scored just one more run in the remaining three games.

Runs Allowed: 181

Best Batter: Miroslav Kovár. He batted .337 (OBP .452/SLG .423) with one triple, seven doubles, 25 runs scored and 19 RBI in 31 games.

Best Pitcher: Jakub Jonák. He had a 5-4 record with an ERA of 3.09 in 18 games, while striking out 71 batters in 90 1/3 innings (14 walks).

Most Walks: Matej Husek 18
Most Innings Pitched: Jakub Jonák 90.1
