According to Honkbalsite.com Yurendell de Caster has signed with the Mexican League club Broncos de Reynosa. The 30-year-old infielder, who played for the Dutch National Team during the World Baseball Classic and the Baseball World Cup last year, already spent parts of the winter in Mexico. In 2009 the infielder split time between the independent Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks and the Triple-A team of the New York Yankees in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
In his twelve-year professional career so far, De Caster looks back at three appearances in the big leagues for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2006 and 1,120 games for affiliated minor league teams of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Pirates, Washington Nationals and the Yankees. During the second WBC upset win over the Dominican Republic last spring, his groundball to first base drove in the decisive run in the eleventh inning.
