The New York Yankees have clinched their 27th World Series championship on Wednesday with a 7-3 win over the Philadelphia Phillies in game six of the best-of-seven series. World Series MVP Hideki Matsui led the team going three-for-four with a homerun and a record-tying six RBI. Andy Pettitte pitched five-plus solid innings to get the win. It is the first title for the Bronx Bombers since 2000. The Phillies had won last year. The city of New York is going to celebrate the championship on Friday with a ticker-tape parade in Manhattan.
