Posted on February 6, 2011February 6, 2011 by philipp

After two years in the Italian Baseball League Yoel Hernandez is returning to the Spanish Division de Honor. The 36-year-old right-hander leaves Danesi Nettuno to join the Tenerife Marlins Puerto Cruz for the 2011 season. He only had five appearances for Nettuno in 2010, giving up eleven runs on 16 hits and three walks in 9 1/3 innings for an ERA of 10.61. He struck out eight. He already had played for the Marlins before, winning the championship in Spanish Baseball in 2007, where he went a perfect 8-0 with an ERA of 0.56. Hernandez is entering a pitching staff in Puerto Cruz, which has lost Antonio Noguera (Novara) and Ivan Granados (San Marino) this winter.
