Taiwan moved back into second place in the World Port Tournament in Rotterdam on Friday, defeating Japan 8-1. They scored in each frame between the third and the eighth. Hung-Yu Lin went three-for-four with two doubles, two runs scored and two RBI. Ken-Wei Lin also collected three hits and got two RBI. Chu-Chien Hsu received the win after five innings, allowing three hits, a run and a walk. Chen-Hua Lin closed it out with four K’s in four scoreless innings of two-hit relief. Yoichi Sakamoto suffered the loss, conceding three runs on six hits in four innings.
Netherlands – Cuba 2-8

Cuba stayed undefeated at the World Port Tournament, scoring seven runs in the fourth en route to an 8-2 victory against host Netherlands. Ariel Borrero and Leonys Martin had three hits each, combining for three doubles and three RBI. Yoelvis Fiss scored twice. Vince Rooi homered for the Dutch team. Yaumier Sanchez gave up one unearned run on one hit and a whopping six bb in seven innings. He struck out nine, hit a batter, threw two wild pitches and balked. Kevin Heijstek issued eight hits, four runs and a walk in three-plus innings for the loss. The Netherlands need to win against Taiwan on Saturday to reach the finals on Sunday.
